On Monday 28 February 2022 the Hauraki Gulf Forum voted to adopt an advocacy position on updating and strengthening the 22-year-old Hauraki Gulf Marine Park Act. The vote was 11 in favour, 7 against, and 3 abstentions. The Forum agreed that the Co-Chairs will present the advocacy position to Ministers for their consideration.
