Protecting seabirds from introduced predators makes a significant impact on our Gulf Island ecosystems, and it’s something which we can all pitch in to help with. Seabirds are just one of the many native New Zealand species which are threatened by a myriad of pressures, but many more species get relief from the removal of introduced predators which allows seabird populations to rebound.
Thanks to the hard work of many, a number of native seabird species have inspiring comeback stories. Furthermore, several of the island ecosystems of the Gulf are recovering and undergoing regeneration work thanks to pest eradication.
